Hah, really? I think you're overstating it a bit there. It may be Mother's Day, but it's also a Sunday just after school holidays - most people will be home and will be watching TV. Seven probably thinks 'Olivia' will appeal more to the older female demographic.It also happens to be Mother's Day when traditionally people prefer to spend more time with their family than watch TV.
The first episode will be up against tough competition: the final of Eurovision Song Contest on SBS, MasterChef Australia / Roseanne on Ten and The Voice / 60 Minutes on Nine.
Roseanne won't be much competition because Channel Ten has been slow in getting it to air here, so those most keen for its return will have already seen it online. Its most recent ratings weren't good.
MasterChef and Eurovision are probably the biggest competitors, although I think MasterChef is probably the biggest.
And we knew Seven would schedule it against The Voice/60 Minutes - there'll be competition, but no tougher than usual.
