The start of daylight savings in some states means no program pulled over one million viewers last night, however it was no less competitive. Nine won the night with the reveal episode of The Block and the season two premiere of Love Island Australia, whose audience was three times that of the audience which saw the series debut on 9GO! in May last year (161,000).  Nine reported Love Island recorded an on demand VPM of 19,000 until midnight, up 211% year-on-year. It later reported the show also brought in a further 35,000 viewers in live streaming and 48,000 in video on demand.
The Masked Singer posted its season low against The Block, but HYBPA stayed above 800,000 for the fifth week in a row, a streak not seen since mid 2017.
In the major demographics, The Block beat The Masked Singer but HYBPA easily accounted for Love Island. Nine won the night overall in 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.
The Real Dirty Dancing held up from Sunday so the show does have its fans.

Nine won the night despite The Block and Love Island both falling from Monday, however Love Island continued to do well on 9Now. By midday AEDT today, the viewership of the second episode had risen to a total of 524,000 with combined metro, regional, and streaming viewers.
While Seven’s primary share fell from last Tuesday (not helped by another poor ratings performance by Bride & Prejudice), its network share actually went up from last Tuesday with increases for both 7mate and 7flix. Secret Bridesmaids’ Business continued to creep up.
The Masked Singer hit the half way mark with six of the 12 celebrities eliminated, but its audience continued to drop.

The fifth season of The Bachelorette, featuring Angie Kent from Gogglebox, started pretty well, with average audience up 13% from last year’s season with Ali Oetjen, however it was not able to beat The Block between 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The Bachelorette did come on top on all major demographics.
Nine won the night overall despite Love Island slipping again.

Seven won the night thanks to multichannels while Bride & Prejudice hitting a new season low.
Nine won in primary shares despite The Block (on its only Thursday appearance due to NRL Grand Final) posting a season low, and Love Island slipping again. Survivor and Doctor Strange boosted 9GO’s share.
The Bachelorette fell from Wednesday’s season premiere but topped the demos. It was slightly ahead of Gogglebox which had a big increase from last week.

Seven easily took out the night with BH&G and the repeat of Disney movie Maleficent, ahead of cinema release of the sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
Nine’s audience share took a tumble with Bondi Vet: Coast to Coast having a poor debut and Love Island out of the top 20.
The rugby lifted 10’s primary share by 0.8%.

The top 10 shootout of Bathurst 1000 was the most-watched program on 10 yesterday, but it was lower than last year’s 488,000.
Harry Potter rebounded from last week’s surprise loss to beat Star Wars this week.

Revised numbers
Bathurst 1000 Podium 911,000
Bathurst 1000 Race 818,000

While Nine won the night with The Block and 60 Minutes, the late finish to Bathurst 1000 motor race boosted 10’s primetime share, especially in Sydney and Melbourne. According to 10, the average audience for Bathurst race was up 11% from last year. As well, 1.19 million tuned in to watch the final 20 minutes of the race (which concluded at 6.19pm with Scott McLaughlin crossing the finish line first). The Sunday Project and The Graham Norton Show both posted small audience increases.
ABC’s new political drama Total Control, starring Deborah Mailman and Rachel Griffiths, was off to a solid start.

10 posted its best Monday share of the year, and its biggest Monday network and primary share since January 2018, thanks to The Masked Singer and a new record audience for Have You Been Paying Attention? The comedy news quiz attracted 946,000 viewers, smashing the previous record of 878,000 set on May 15, 2017. The Masked Singer’s reveal segment and HYBPA topped the key advertising demographics of those aged 16 to 39, 18 to 49, and 25 to 54, and helped 10 to win the night in all three demos. In primary shares 10 came second, just 1% behind Nine.
Nine won the night overall despite Love Island falling from last Monday. Seven struggled again after 7.30pm with no program pulling more than 450,000 viewers.
After a year on Seven and more than 20 years on Nine, Friends made its debut on 10Peach last night and did well in key multichannel demos.

10 had its biggest Tuesday share of the year, its primary share jumped by 5.1% from last Tuesday, mostly at Seven’s expense. With only one episode to go, The Masked Singer fell from Monday but continued to dominate in the demos. The behind the scenes special which followed the main show also won its timeslot.
Nine continued its winning streak with The Block edging out The Masked Singer in a ding-dong battle, however Love Island fell again.
